Journal for Research in Arts and Sports Education (JASEd)

Journal for Research in Arts and Sports Education is a Nordic and international open access journal that publishes original scientific articles of high academic quality within the educational fields of arts, physical education and sports. The journal welcomes contributions within: Artistic contexts, such as music, dance, drama and theatre, visual arts, film, literature and also research within aesthetic approaches to learning and performative approaches to research and teaching. Educational and/or professional topics related to physical education, physical activity or sports. Relevant fields are physical education, physical activity and sports in primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, after-school programs and higher education. Interdisciplinary projects, or philosophical-theoretical research across the disciplines of art and physical education. The journal welcomes contributions that highlight and discuss ongoing research related to the arts and physical education/sports. This may include research that addresses developments and changes within the subjects, looking at different teaching methods, didactics and different types of education, and different levels, from kindergarten to higher education. The journal is particularly interested in the increasing number of research projects that are being formed across artistic, teaching and research activities. The journal's readers include teachers, researchers, artists, teaching artists, athletes, educational leaders, and policymakers. In addition to peer-reviewed articles, the Journal for Research in Arts and Sports Education also publishes editorials and reviews of Nordic literature within the arts and physical education/sports subjects, as well as special issues based on input from the editorial board.
