JME Practical Bioethics (JMEPB)

JME Practical Bioethics is an open access, peer reviewed journal that publishes content in all areas of bioethics. Alongside traditional philosophical and conceptual analyses that have a clear practical upshot, the journal welcomes translational, applied and empirically focused bioethics research. The journal aspires to be useful and relevant to practitioners, policymakers, journalists, students, the public and scholars in bioethics and allied disciplines from around the world. JME Practical Bioethics is an open access, peer reviewed journal publishing in all areas of bioethics with an emphasis on translational and empirically focused bioethics research alongside philosophical and ethical analyses that carry practical implications. The journal aspires to serve the global bioethics community. Although all articles are published in English, article Abstracts can be published in up to 2 additional languages to facilitate accessibility and discoverability (translations must be supplied by the author). JME Practical Bioethics is a companion to the Journal of Medical Ethics (JME). JME Practical Bioethics has a broader scope than JME and has additional article types with more flexible word limits to encourage methodological innovation and to accommodate a diverse range of contributions. The journal prioritises rigorous qualitative, quantitative, philosophical, and mixed-method empirical evaluation of the ethical aspects of practice, policy, law, education and research in medicine and public health, social care, the life sciences, biotechnology, artificial intelligence and the natural, social, digital and built environments. JME Practical Bioethics broadens the discourse in relation to these topics by addressing both local and global societal challenges of the twenty-first century and beyond.
