Journal Descriptions

International Shipbuilding Progress (ISP) is a long-established, peer-reviewed international journal that has served the global marine engineering and shipbuilding research community since 1954. It publishes high-quality scientific and technical papers that advance knowledge across the broad spectrum of marine technology, including fundamental and applied research on ship design, structural and offshore engineering, hydromechanics and dynamics, maritime machinery systems, production processes, and related materials science. ISP welcomes contributions that address both theoretical developments and practical challenges in the design and construction of marine vessels and offshore structures, as well as studies on ship operations, marine safety, lifecycle performance, and environmental interactions. The journal supports rigorous scientific methodology and innovation in maritime and ocean engineering disciplines. It is indexed in major abstracting and indexing databases — including Scopus and Web of Science’s Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) — reflecting its scholarly influence in engineering subfields such as marine, mechanical, and ocean engineering. ISP has a legacy of influencing academic research and industry practices in shipbuilding and marine systems engineering by disseminating peer-reviewed advances, helping bridge the gap between research innovations and practical applications in the marine sector.
