Journal Descriptions

The International Journal of Vegetable Science is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to innovative research on vegetable production science, including plant growth, pest and disease management, sustainable production, yield, and postharvest processes. In addition, the journal welcomes studies on producing medicinal crops for direct fresh use, microgreens, baby leaves, edible fungi, algae, and wild germplasm resources with potential applications as fresh vegetables. The target audience includes researchers, practitioners, and academics interested in vegetable crop science, production techniques, and the associated socio-economic impacts. Students, researchers, and academics working in the broad field of vegetable science and policymakers in the field of agriculture find the International Journal of Vegetable Science to be an essential read. Exclusive Focus on Vegetable Crop Science: Submissions must be related to vegetable crops. Topics involving non-vegetables, crop processing or elaboration in the food industry, and medicinal crops for non-fresh use are out of scope. Molecular and phylogenetic studies, research on storage, phytomedicine, entomology, micropropagation, breeding, and plant physiology must explicitly address vegetable production. Emphasis on High-Quality, Globally Relevant Research: Studies limited to simple yield or morphological comparisons of genotypes, local ecotypes, or hybrids without significant physiological insights, as well as research with only local relevance, are out of scope.
