Indoor Environments (IE)
Journal Descriptions
Indoor Environments is an international, peer reviewed, fully open access journal dedicated to advancing research on indoor environmental quality and its impacts on human health, comfort, productivity, and sustainability. The journal is the official publication of the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ) and is published by Elsevier. It provides a multidisciplinary platform for scientists, engineers, architects, public health professionals, epidemiologists, toxicologists, microbiologists, and environmental researchers working to improve indoor living and working environments. The journal publishes original research articles, reviews, and methodological studies related to indoor pollutants, ventilation systems, air cleaning technologies, thermal comfort, pathogen transmission, acoustics, lighting, exposure assessment, health effects, sustainability, and climate change adaptation. It encourages innovative approaches that contribute to healthier, safer, and more resilient indoor spaces. As people spend most of their lives indoors, the journal addresses critical challenges associated with indoor air quality and environmental health in residential, commercial, educational, and healthcare buildings. Through its global scope and interdisciplinary focus, Indoor Environments aims to support evidence based policies, building design improvements, and technological innovations that enhance indoor environmental quality and human well being worldwide.
