Indian Journal of Geo-Marine Sciences (IJMS)
Journal Descriptions
The Indian Journal of Geo-Marine Sciences (IJMS) is one of India’s leading scientific journals dedicated to marine and oceanographic research. Established in 1972, IJMS has consistently provided a platform for scientists, academicians, and researchers to publish original work in diverse areas of marine science. The journal covers physical oceanography (hydrodynamics, climate change, satellite oceanography), chemical oceanography (biogeochemical cycles, marine pollution), biological oceanography (aquatic biology, ecology, fisheries, biodiversity, systematics), and geological oceanography (marine geochemistry, micropalaeontology, marine archaeology, marine geotechnics). It also publishes work on marine instrumentation, engineering, and naval architecture, reflecting its multidisciplinary scope. IJMS is published monthly by CSIR-NIScPR, ensuring rigorous peer review and high-quality standards. Articles are open access, enabling global dissemination of knowledge without subscription barriers. With over five decades of continuous publication, IJMS has become a cornerstone for marine science research in India and internationally, fostering collaboration and advancing understanding of ocean systems, marine biodiversity, and sustainable resource management.
