The Indian Journal of Animal Research (IJAR) is a peer-reviewed scientific publication that focuses on the advancement of animal research in the world. The journal was established in 1966 by the Agricultural Research Communication Centre (ARCC), and since then, it has been publishing high-quality research articles on a variety of animal-related topics. The primary aim of the journal is to disseminate original research findings, innovative methodologies, and novel technologies for the sustainable development of the livestock sector in India. In this article, we will discuss the scope, mission, and future prospects of IJAR. Scope: IJAR covers a broad range of animal research topics including animal breeding and genetics, nutrition, reproduction, physiology, biotechnology, health, and management. The journal publishes original research articles, review articles, short communications, and case reports related to all domesticated animals, including poultry, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, and other livestock species. The journal also welcomes manuscripts related to wildlife, aquaculture, and laboratory animals.
