Indagationes Mathematicae (IM)
Journal Descriptions
Indagationes Mathematicae is a long‑standing and respected mathematics journal with origins dating back to 1895. Originally part of the Proceedings of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, it evolved into a dedicated mathematics journal from 1939 onward and transitioned to its current formal title in 1990. The journal is published by Elsevier B.V. for the Royal Dutch Mathematical Society (KWG) and aims to disseminate original, high‑quality research papers that contribute broadly to the mathematical sciences. Research published spans deep theoretical work in algebra, analysis, geometry, topology, probability, and related fields, as well as significant connections between subdisciplines. The journal supports rigorous peer review and fosters accessibility: while it operates on a hybrid publishing model, journal content becomes open access 48 months after publication, and the editorial policy encourages submission of papers concurrently uploaded to arXiv to enhance availability. With a quarterly (or bimonthly segmented) publication pattern and inclusion of special thematic issues, Indagationes Mathematicae remains an important outlet for mathematicians worldwide. Its editorial board features international experts, and the journal continues a legacy dating back over a century, contributing to global mathematical research discourse.
