in silico Plants (ISP)
Journal Descriptions
in silico Plants (isP) is an open-access, peer reviewed online journal dealing with all aspects of plant modelling. The journal aims to provide a single home for work from currently disparate research areas, publishing interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research at the interface between mathematics, computer science, ‘omics, plant biology, crop science, ecology, and forestry. The journal is owned and managed by the Annals of Botany Company, a not-for-profit educational charity established to promote plant science worldwide. isP publishes works describing novel computational algorithms and software, models, and tools that advance plant sciences. Disciplines including: anatomy agroforestry agronomy agriculture bioinformatics breeding crop science ecology evolution forestry genetics ‘omics (e.g. genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) soil science pathology physiology weed science Techniques including: artificial intelligence (machine-learning, deep learning, neural networks, generative models) digital twins genotyping image capture, analysis, feature extraction and annotation image, or machine learning classification phenotyping proximal or remote sensing visualization All levels of organization including: molecular cellular organismal system population ecosystem multiscale Model intercomparisons as well as frameworks, platforms, languages or tools to enable model reuse, integration or exchange are also welcome. The journal does NOT publish research-based analyses that rely exclusively on the existing computational methods listed here: visualization of molecular structures (e.g. molecular docking) gene/protein screening using existing tools (e.g. BLAST) identification and characterization of proteins gene identification, characterization and/or expression profiling genome-wide association DNA sequencing
