Journal Descriptions

"Il Processo" aims to provide further space for discussion and debate, with the goal of reaffirming the centrality of procedural rules and an adequate balance of all the fundamental guarantees of a fair trial. The Journal intends to critically analyze the various areas of jurisdiction, in the belief that the trial—in the essential moments of adversarial proceedings and adjudication—plays a central role in the legal experience. The centrality of the trial must be reaffirmed, even more so, in the contemporary era, characterized by the chronic crisis and inefficiency of the judicial system. There seems to be an increasingly widespread belief that procedural rules, ultimately, represent formalities that can be sacrificed for the sake of justice system efficiency, essentially understood in terms of speed and reasonable trial duration. This is even more true in the current international context, which is characterized by a multi-level exercise of the jurisdictional function, with reciprocal interaction and integration between the global levels—international, European, and national. The Journal's purpose is evident in the diversity (in terms of areas and universities) of its Board of Directors and other bodies, which cover all areas of procedural law, from civil to criminal proceedings, from administrative to tax proceedings, from accounting proceedings to proceedings before the Constitutional Court. "Il Processo" hosts authoritative scholarly commentaries on the various scientific fields relevant to procedural law. It is also characterized by an ongoing dialogue with case law, aimed at adequate reflection and analysis, as befits a quarterly journal. Finally, there is a section dedicated to current events: first-read comments on new procedural regulations; legislative proposals; opinions and debates on specific current issues; reviews; conference news; and more,
