Huria: Journal of the Open University of Tanzania is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary academic journal published by The Open University of Tanzania. It is one of the university’s flagship scholarly publications and serves as a platform for researchers, academicians, and professionals to publish original research articles, review papers, and scholarly discussions. The journal covers a wide range of disciplines including education, social sciences, humanities, law, economics, and applied sciences. It particularly emphasizes research that addresses societal transformation, development challenges, and higher education advancement in developing countries. The journal was established in the mid-1990s and has since grown into an international academic outlet attracting contributions from researchers across Africa and beyond. It follows a peer-review process conducted by subject experts to ensure quality, originality, and academic rigor. Huria Journal is published three times a year, in March, July, and December, and includes research articles, reviews, technical notes, and interdisciplinary studies. It is an open-access journal that promotes free dissemination of knowledge and encourages academic collaboration across institutions. Over the years, it has contributed significantly to research dissemination in Tanzania and the broader East African academic community.
