Historisk tidsskrift (HT)

Historisk tidsskrift is the leading journal for Norwegian historical research. The journals provides a historical foundation for our understanding of important changes in society. The journal publishes scholarly articles, debate and commentary, as well as book reviews and critical evaluations of new work. Historisk tidsskrift is Norway’s oldest scholarly journal. It was launched in 1871 and has become the primary forum for Norwegian historians. It is published by the Norwegian Historical Association in collaboration with Scandinavian University Press, and with the support of Nasjonalt tidsskriftkonsortium for humaniora og samfunnsvitenskap. The journal is aimed at historians, humanists and sociologists, students, history teachers and the general reader with an interest in history. From 2018, the journal is published with open access. Historisk tidsskrift is issued quarterly and publishes original work in the Scandinavian languages and in English.
