Journal Descriptions
The journal Histoire Urbaine is dedicated to the history of cities and urban development from Antiquity to the present day. The first journal of its kind in France, its ambition is to showcase the vitality of research in a constantly evolving field that is closely linked to the major debates of our society. The variety of periods covered and the breadth of the topics covered make Histoire Urbaine indispensable in its field. It is a unique way to learn about the evolution of research and debates in urban history. Urban History is a peer-reviewed journal. It welcomes contributions from French and international specialists. It is an opening to foreign historiographies. It is open to interdisciplinarity. It is intended not only for teachers, researchers, and students, but also for all those who work on the city and the urban. The journal is published three times a year. It features reference articles, organized around a theme or in the form of miscellaneous articles, as well as critical reviews. A "Debates and Interviews" section makes it a place for exchanges and discussions around current research and urban issues.
