Hermès, La Revue (Hermès)
Journal Descriptions
For over thirty years, Hermès, la Revue has analyzed the central role played by communication in our societies, its consequences and its profound changes. Through hundreds of articles, over 2,000 authors have contributed to the construction of a new field of knowledge that goes beyond representations, ideologies and technical, economic and political discourse. This heritage constitutes an irreplaceable scientific database on the state of research in major fields: information, communication, culture, science and politics. Since 1988, essential concepts in the communication sciences have been addressed: public space; political communication; public opinion; journalism; reception; audience; identity; cultural diversity; solidarity economy; mediation. While Hermès is a scientific journal, it aims to remain accessible to an open-minded public interested in the theoretical and practical issues raised by communication. Two issues are published each year, each devoted to an exhaustive study of a major issue. It is referenced in the international Web of Science database. Since 2007, the journal has been published in open access on IRevues, with a three-year rolling barrier. The journal Hermès has been dedicated to the study of the field of communication since 1988. Founded and directed by Dominique Wolton, it is hosted by the CNRS and publishes two issues per year. Two book collections ("Les Essentiels d'Hermès" and "CNRS Communication") complement the journal. A second collection, in pocket format, "Les Essentiels d'Hermès", aims to provide access to contemporary research in communication sciences. It is freely access on OpenEdition (books.openedition.org/editionscnrs/13558?lang=en).
