Heredity (Heredity)

Heredity is the official journal of the Genetics Society Profits generated from the journal go back to the research community in terms of small grants and support for conferences and workshops. Heredity specifically supports fieldwork grants for genetics-related research; we encourage award recipients to submit resulting publications to Heredity. Heredity encourages involvement of early career researchers: we have an annual prize for the best student paper published in Heredity each year and we encourage joint peer review between junior and senior academics. The journal covers a broad range of topics within the field of genetics and therefore papers must address conceptual or applied issues of interest to the journal's wide readership. We encourage submissions on any study system but there should be a take-home message that focuses on broad general lessons that can be extended beyond single organisms.
