Helios (Helios)
Journal Descriptions
Helios has long been a venue for cutting-edge research in Classics. As one of the field’s first journals dedicated to the publication of studies of the ancient world that employ contemporary critical modes, it is uniquely positioned to publish work that responds to current challenges faced by the discipline. The editorial team aims to feature scholarship that not only pushes the boundaries of the field, but also that argues for the importance of the ancient world to contemporary debates. To that end, we seek submissions from scholars whose work explores any aspect of the ancient world through contemporary critical theory. Papers that employ queer, feminist, psychoanalytic, anthropological, critical race, post-structuralist, critical media, neo-philological and other, new or emerging theories are particularly welcome.
