Gouvernement & action publique (G&AP)
Journal Descriptions
The journal Gouvernement et action publique focuses on government activities in the broadest sense: the transformations of states, executives and administrations, the multiple forms of organization and functioning of democracies and the conduct of public action. Through analyses covering multiple actors (states, local authorities, European Union, international organizations, NGOs, interest groups, etc.), it aims to address the issues of direction, administration, regulation, control, production and distribution of collective goods and citizen participation. The intellectual project of the journal Gouvernement et action publique is to hold together and bring into play with each other approaches that are too often autonomous: analysis of public policies, sociology of the state, administrative science, sociology of elites, parties, institutions, knowledge, etc. Mainly anchored in political science, the journal resolutely turns towards other disciplines of the social sciences (sociology, history, political economy, etc.). Conceived as a meeting place, not claiming to belong to any school, its ambition is to contribute to theoretical debates, methodological deepening and empirical accumulation around a common object: the action of governments and their effects.
