Ghana Mining Journal (GMJ)
Journal Descriptions
The Ghana Mining Journal (GMJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, Ghana. It focuses on research in mining, mineral engineering, geology, geosciences, metallurgy, environmental engineering, and related fields. The journal aims to promote the dissemination of high-quality scientific and technical knowledge relevant to the mining and mineral resource industries, especially within Africa and other mining regions globally. GMJ publishes original research articles, review papers, and technical reports that contribute to sustainable mining practices, mineral exploration, processing, and environmental management. The journal follows a double-blind peer review system to ensure academic quality and integrity. It is published semi-annually (two issues per year, in June and December) and is available in both print and online formats. The journal operates under an open-access model with Creative Commons (CC BY) licensing, allowing free access and distribution of published articles. GMJ plays a significant role in bridging academic research and industry practices in mining engineering and earth sciences. It is widely used by researchers, engineers, policy makers, and students for advancing mining knowledge and sustainable resource development.
