German Journal of Exercise and Sport Research (GJESR)

The journal is the joint scientific publication organ of the German Association for Sports Science (dvs), the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the Federal Institute for Sports Science (BISp) and continues the central concerns of the journal, which was published as sports science from 1971 to 2016. The German Journal of Exercise and Sport Research stands for the form of sports science that has grown in Germany, for which it is essential that humanities, natural sciences, social sciences and behavioral science subjects merge in favor of an appropriately multifaceted description and theoretical penetration of the phenomenon of sport and exercise. The journal publishes original scientific articles (main articles, short articles, literature reviews) as well as essays, commentaries and discussion contributions with reference to topics relevant to sports science in a double-blind peer-review process. Contributions written in both English and German are accepted. The German Journal of Exercise and Sport Research is explicitly committed to scientific progress on an international scale. Together with excellent authors from German-speaking and international countries, the journal is to be further developed into a leading international interdisciplinary journal for sport and exercise.
