Journal Descriptions

Research in ancient geography has seen significant growth, not only thanks to a more sophisticated use of new technologies, but also to the variety of trends in historical research on the ancient world. "Geographia Antiqua" aims to bridge the gap between journals on classical antiquities and geographical journals, establishing itself as an international reference point in this field of study. Topics covered include the historical geography of the ancient world, the history of ancient geography, and its tradition in the medieval and modern eras. Published annually since 1992. Research into ancient geography has registered an important advance not only thanks to the more sophisticated use of new technology but also as a result of various trends in historical research into the ancient world. «Geographia Antiqua» aims to fill the gap that exists among both journals of the ancient world as well as geographical journals. The Journal is therefore a kind of international point of reference in this field of study; it covers the following themes: the historical geography of the ancient world, the history of ancient geography and its tradition in the Medieval and modern age.
