G3: Genes|Genomes|Genetics (G3)
Journal Descriptions
G3: Genes|Genomes|Genetics is an open access journal providing a forum for the publication of high-quality foundational research—particularly research that generates useful genetic and genomic information such as genome maps, single gene studies, genome‐wide association and QTL studies, as well as genome reports, mutant screens, and advances in methods and technology. The Editorial Board of G3 believes that rapid dissemination of these data is the necessary foundation for analysis that leads to mechanistic insights. G3 offers the opportunity to publish Reports as well as Investigations and encourages papers from molecular to the mathematical with results that are illuminating as well as those that are predictable or puzzling. G3 does not judge papers based on perceived impact and instead provides a forum for the publication of reproducible and useful genetics/genomics research with their associated data. The Editorial Board of G3 believes that rapid dissemination of data and results is critical to advancing the field. As part of our mission to serve our communities, we've published thematic collections that include Genomic Prediction, Fungal Genetics & Genomics, and Neurogenetics. G3 has earned the DOAJ Seal, which is awarded by the Directory of Open Access Journals to journals that achieve a high level of openness, adhering to Best Practices and high publishing standards. G3 and our companion journal GENETICS are peer–reviewed, peer–edited open access journal of the Genetics Society of America. All editorial decisions are made through collaboration of at least two editors who are practicing scientists.
