Francophonies d'Amérique (FA)
Journal Descriptions
Founded in 1991, Francophonies d'Amérique is a multidisciplinary journal serving as a forum for academics whose research focuses on one or other of the French-speaking sociocultural areas in America. It creates a network of information and exchanges between these researchers and the various French-speaking communities whose isolation is on a par with the North American continent itself. Ontario, Acadia, Western Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean are represented. Quebec can also be considered an object of study in its continental history and presence. The various facets of French life in these regions are the subject of analyses and studies that are both scholarly and accessible to a public interested in "French speakers" in North America. It also includes reviews and a bibliography of recent French-language publications from these communities. Francophonies d'Amérique aims to reflect a growing research sector and thus constitutes a most useful source of information for anyone interested in the North American Francophonie in all its vitality.
