Folia Geobotanica (FG)
Journal Descriptions
of Sciences. It publishes peer-reviewed articles on vegetation science, plant ecology and plant systematics, including the topics of temporal community patterns, population and ecosystem ecology, and invasion and conservation ecology. Within the field of plant systematics, the journal welcomes articles on systematic and evolutionary botany, including phylogenetic reconstructions, phylogeographic and biogeographic inferences, studies of microevolutionary processes, taxonomic studies, and broader taxonomic revisions. Apart from original research articles, authors are invited to submit forum papers, opinion papers, review papers and technical reports on topics of broader interest. Special issues on varied subjects in plant ecology and plant systematics, often following up on international conferences, are also published. An international editorial board and a thorough review process safeguard the quality of papers published. Formerly Folia Geobotanica et Phytotaxonomica, the journal was founded in 1966 by renowned botanists Slavomil Hejný and Jaroslav Moravec of the Institute of Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Průhonice, Czech Republic. Since 2008, it has been co-published with Springer.
