Journal Descriptions

Feminist Translation Studies is a peer-reviewed international journal that provides an interdisciplinary and transnational forum for critical analysis and constructive debate about all research themes connected with feminisms, gender and translation and interpreting. As such, the journal intends to become a reference point for scholars working in the very dynamic and now quite established field of feminist translation studies. The journal publishes papers that advance intersectional feminist perspectives within the discipline of translation and interpreting studies, including queer studies, race studies, decolonial studies and ecocriticism, among others. Additionally, it encourages research articles on both emerging and established topics to contribute to the ongoing epistemological expansion of the field. Feminist Translation Studies welcomes interdisciplinary studies that aim to facilitate discussions about the social, political and ethical role of translation/interpreting and translators/interpreters as enablers of cross-border feminist activisms. By focusing on a range of geopolitical contexts, language combinations and academic cultures, the journal showcases the diverse range of interests and pursuits within this field and addresses activism within, between and beyond the so-called Global North and Global South.
