Journal Descriptions

The European Journal on Criminal Policy and Research is a peer-reviewed criminology journal with an international and interdisciplinary focus, specifically oriented toward the European context and debate. It welcomes submissions from a variety of disciplines and academic traditions, particularly where crime-related issues are examined in relation to their broader societal, economic, and political contexts. - While the journal is centered on Europe, it also encourages contributions from other regions, provided they demonstrate a clear and substantive connection to Europe or offer comparative perspectives relevant to European debates. The journal focuses on understanding crime trends, developing conceptual frameworks and relevant indicators, presenting empirical or secondary data, and discussing crime prevention and control policies with particular attention to their outputs and outcomes. Special consideration is given to innovative research approaches and methodologies, as well as to pioneering crime policies and practices. A central aim of the journal is to strengthen the connection between academic research and policy-making in the field of crime and justice. To this end, submissions with a clear policy-oriented dimension are particularly encouraged.
