Journal Descriptions

The European Journal of Special Needs Education reflects the dynamic growth of the theory and practice of special needs education as it is emerging worldwide. Its focus is European, and it aims to provide a European space for discourse on these developments. Written for researchers and scholars in the field, it provides a forum for reporting scholarly research and advancing new thinking on issues related to special needs and inclusive education. Each issue includes contributions from a variety of different countries dealing with special needs at all levels of education. These are primarily research reports but may also include theoretical contributions and substantial literature reviews. Short Reports are published from time to time. These provide a platform for potentially interesting papers that do not have the substance expected for a standard paper. These do not have a fixed format and can include, for instance, a report of a pilot study, an extension of an existing study or indicative findings from a study with a small or compromised sample. The maximum permitted length is 4,000 words.
