European Journal of Oral Sciences (EJOS)
Journal Descriptions
The European Journal of Oral Sciences (Eur. J. Oral Sci.) is a peer-reviewed, bimonthly scientific journal published by Wiley-Blackwell on behalf of the Nordisk Odontologisk Förening (Scandinavian Division of the International Association for Dental Research). Established in 1995 as a successor of the Scandinavian Journal of Dental Research, it is one of the longest-running oral science publications with roots stretching back to 1893. The journal welcomes original research papers, systematic reviews, short communications, and letters that address clinical dentistry and underlying oral biology — including structures, chemistry, developmental biology, physiology and pathology of oral tissues, microbiology, biomaterials and behavioural sciences as they relate to oral health and disease. Unlike many dental journals, the European Journal of Oral Sciences emphasizes analytical and mechanistic studies alongside clinical investigations, making it relevant to both basic scientists and practising clinicians. Its scope bridges traditional oral biology and advanced dental research, fostering interdisciplinary insights that contribute to improved diagnostics, preventive strategies, biomaterial innovations and understanding of oral disease mechanisms. Indexed in major scientific databases such as MEDLINE/PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus, the journal serves an international audience of researchers, educators, clinicians, and academic institutions committed to advancing knowledge in oral health sciences.
