Established in 2001 by a consortium of European universities, the European Journal of East Asian Studies (EJEAS) is a globally recognized academic journal specializing in post-1900 East Asia. The journal primarily examines the regions socio-economic development, regional affairs and international relations. EJEAS aims to promote interdisciplinary research within the social sciences, encouraging deeper conceptual and empirical analysis of East Asia’s recent and ongoing transformations at both local and global levels. Contributors are invited to integrate disciplines such as anthropology, geography, history, economics, political science, psychology, and sociology. The journal also welcomes insights from fields like cultural studies, international development, foreign affairs, global studies, public policy, corporate management. Additionally, EJEAS seeks original articles from scholars both within and outside the region, encouraging fresh perspectives in East Asia studies. These contributions may also challenge or redefine traditional understandings of Asian and regional studies in the context of the 21st century. Peer Review Policy: All articles published in European Journal of East Asian Studies undergo a double-anonymous external peer review process. This includes articles published in special issues.
