European Journal of Combinatorics (EJC)
Journal Descriptions
European Journal of Combinatorics is an international, peer‑reviewed academic journal specializing in combinatorics and discrete mathematics, published by Academic Press/Elsevier. Since its inception in 1980, the journal has served as a premier venue for rigorous research in combinatorial theory, focusing on mathematical structures, enumeration, graph theory, designs, lattice theory, algebraic and extremal combinatorics, and connections with theoretical computer science and discrete optimization. The journal publishes original research articles, expository surveys, and significant problem‑oriented contributions that deepen understanding of combinatorial principles and advance methods in enumeration, structural theory, algorithms, and applications of combinatorics. Many papers explore interdisciplinary links between combinatorial mathematics and other branches of mathematics and computing, including algorithmic complexity, probabilistic combinatorics, and combinatorial optimization. Published at a frequency of eight issues per year, the journal runs special issues and thematic collections alongside regular research articles, reflecting ongoing developments in discrete mathematics. It is abstracted and indexed in major bibliographic databases such as MathSciNet, Science Citation Index Expanded, Scopus, and ZbMATH Open.
