European Heart Journal Open (EHJ Open) is an open access journal of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) dedicated to the entire spectrum of cardiovascular medicine, with emphasis on novel research results with the potential to improve patient care. EHJ Open is now indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals. Our mission: to promote open and interactive cardiology for an accelerated and global sharing of science to fight cardiovascular disease. EHJ Open serves as a forum for the global cardiology community and publishes original papers on all aspects of cardiovascular medicine and surgery, along with reviews and current opinions about recent developments in cardiology as well as position and consensus documents. EHJ Open also encourages correspondence, debate and digital interaction with its readers. The objectives of the Journal are: To facilitate dissemination of novel research results through Open Access to a broad readership in cardiology To stimulate debate of recent trials, guidelines, and observations To provide directions for current and future cardiology EHJ Open will consider manuscripts reporting original results from clinical trials, observational studies and experimental work, as long as it falls within the topics listed below. The Journal also welcomes submissions of reviews and meta-analyses as well as correspondence on timely subjects. Manuscripts having already undergone review in one of the ESC journals will be handled with priority. As a fully Open Access journal, EHJ Open will allow authors to gain high visibility for their research and to reach a broad readership in cardiology.
