Ethik in der Medizin (EDM)

The journal Ethics in Medicine is dedicated to researching the ethical aspects of health care from an interdisciplinary perspective. The journal includes philosophical-theoretical reflections as well as empirical ethics research. It is aimed at an international audience, especially in German-speaking countries. It is intended to fulfil two primary tasks: Firstly, in view of controversial debates in almost all areas of the health care system, it is to serve as a source of information for doctors, members of other health professions and all persons interested in ethical problems of the health care system. Secondly, the examination of different models of thought and argumentation should help to perceive ethical problems in medicine and health care, to analyse them and to bring them closer to an appropriate solution. Ethics in medicine thus serves both the fundamental ethical discourse and the promotion of responsible decision-making in the practice of health care. The journal publishes articles by authors from the fields of medicine and nursing, philosophy, theology, law, social sciences and all other relevant disciplines. It accepts original and review articles, case studies and commentaries, current information and controversies, and book reviews.
