Journal Descriptions

ESC is an academic journal based at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada, and is the official journal of the Association of Canadian College and University Teachers of English. As the nation's leading generalist journal in the discipline of English Studies, we publish quarterly in print and digital formats to a global audience. ESC currently welcomes submissions on any topic that falls under the disciplinary purview of "English Studies" broadly understood. Submissions are by electronic means only. All submissions should include a 100-word abstract and a 50-word biographical note (spaces for these are available during the online submission process). Since authors’ names are not revealed to referees during assessment, the title but not the author’s name should appear on the uploaded article. ESC: English Studies in Canada was established in 1975 as the official journal of the Association of Canadian College and University Teachers of English (ACCUTE). ESC is now one of the leading journals in the study of literature, language, culture, and theory.
