Equal – Rivista di Diritto Antidiscriminatorio (EQUAL)
Journal Descriptions
The goal is to raise critical awareness of the existence of inequalities but, above all, of the legal tools for overcoming them. That anti-discrimination law was ripe for independent reflection already seemed a sufficient answer. Even obvious, given the importance the topic has progressively acquired in legal scholarship. This is evidenced by the multilevel nature of the regulation established to protect the matter. While Article 3 of the Constitution remains an essential cornerstone, at least with regard to domestic matters, it is undeniable that, over time, it has been precisely the impressive evolution recorded at the supranational level that has granted anti-discrimination law a sort of "species leap"—not in the strongly negative sense typical of epidemiology, of course, although spillovers and spillbacks also recur in legal dynamics—enhancing the acquisition of full autonomy, at least scientifically, if not yet disciplinaryly. From the ILO Declaration of Philadelphia of 1944 to the most recent strategies relating to core labor standards on the one hand and decent work on the other, the interpreter can easily measure both the logical and ideal continuity, as well as the impressive gap in terms of the systematic centrality of anti-discrimination law. EQUAL is an aid to innovative teaching , a space for sharing ideas and disseminating research, and a tool for the social, cultural, and economic development of the society we live in. It is a means for training , research , and knowledge transfer : if pursued together, these three objectives can influence and reinforce each other. The hope is that EQUAL can become an open forum for discussion , ready to host the contributions of all those in Italy and abroad who are interested in the issues of equality, inclusion, sustainability, innovation and social justice.
