Environment Systems and Decisions (ESD)

Environment Systems and Decisions (ENVR) publishes high-quality research that advances environmental management and tools, environmental and climate risk analysis, and decision-making in sociotechnical–environmental systems, as well as multidisciplinary research in which environmental considerations represent one of the central dimensions. The journal welcomes quantitative, qualitative, conceptual, and bibliometric studies addressing environmental issues. ENVR encourages contributions that address environmental systems and management, environmental regulation, and environmental and climate risk assessment, as well as specific management tools and methods, such as environmental impact assessment, life cycle assessment, environmental performance measurement, carbon footprint and emissions management, cleaner production, eco-design, circular economy, green supply chain management, and environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001). The journal also welcomes research addressing risk, resilience, and emergency readiness in environmental issues, and studies that explore the role of Industry 4.0 technologies and Industry 5.0 in supporting environmental management, monitoring, analysis, and decision-making. Multidisciplinary research adopting broader integrative perspectives, including sustainability, ESG, and integrated management systems, is also within the scope of the journal.
