Edo Journal of Counselling (EJC)
Journal Descriptions
The Edo Journal of Counselling is an academic journal that was published in Nigeria by the Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON), particularly associated with the Edo State chapter. Its primary focus is on counselling, guidance, psychology, and related educational and social issues, especially in the context of Nigerian and West African environments. The journal publishes empirical research articles, theoretical discussions, and applied studies dealing with interpersonal behaviour, mental health, guidance and counselling practices in schools, and socio‑educational factors affecting counselling outcomes. The subject matter spans mental health, educational counselling, adolescent behaviour, vocational guidance, and community counselling, drawing contributions from researchers and academics in education and counselling psychology. Launched in 2008, the journal continued through at least 2011 with multiple volumes and issues released in a semestrial pattern (typically two issues per year), although it later appears to have ceased regular publication in indexed repositories after that period. Articles published in the journal are available through open access platforms such as African Journals Online (AJOL) and are used as references in academic research related to counselling challenges, school guidance services, socio‑economic influences on counselling outcomes, and adult education counselling.
