Journal Descriptions
Edda was founded in 1914 and is the leading international journal for literary research in the Nordic countries and discusses literature and literary theory from all language areas, with its main focus on Nordic literature. The journal wishes to contribute to better contact between research communities, schools and the reading public and to make Nordic literary research better known both inside and outside the Nordic area. The journal publishes reviews of Norwegian and foreign scholarly literature, as well as debate articles, and regularly publishes thematic issues. Edda is aimed at literature researchers, teachers in higher education and others interested in Nordic literature. The journal is published by Scandinavian University Press (Universitetsforlaget), and with the support of Nasjonalt tidsskriftkonsortium for humaniora og samfunnsvitenskap. The journal is quarterly and publishes original work in the Scandinavian languages and in English.
