Journal Descriptions

ECS Meeting Abstracts serves as the official collection of extended abstracts presented at the biannual scientific meetings and symposia organized or co-sponsored by The Electrochemical Society (ECS). Rather than being a conventional academic journal with regular volumes and issues, this publication functions as a conference proceedings resource that documents the forefront of research in electrochemistry, solid-state science, energy systems, materials science, sensors, corrosion, and allied disciplines. The abstracts cover a wide range of specialized topics — from fundamental investigations of electrochemical mechanisms to advancements in battery technology, fuel cells, electronic materials, and nanostructured devices. These Meeting Abstracts are typically made available online through the ECS Digital Library shortly before or after the corresponding ECS meeting, giving researchers, attendees, and the global scientific community early access to emerging findings. Because ECS meetings attract researchers from around the world, the abstracts capture diverse perspectives and novel approaches across both fundamental science and applied engineering. While the abstracts themselves undergo selection by symposium organizers, they are not peer reviewed in the same formal manner as full articles in ECS’s traditional journals but are valuable for identifying trending research areas and forming collaborations.
