ECS Electrochemistry Letters (EEL)
Journal Descriptions
ECS Electrochemistry Letters (EEL) was a peer-reviewed, rapid-publication scientific journal focused on electrochemical science and technology. It was established in 2012 by The Electrochemical Society (ECS) and published on a monthly schedule through 2015. The journal aimed to provide a platform for concise, high-quality research reports in areas where swift dissemination of results benefits the scientific community. Typical topics included batteries and energy storage, fuel cells and electrolyzers, corrosion science, electrodeposition, electrochemical engineering, chemical and biological sensors, bioelectrochemistry, electrocatalysis and photoelectrochemistry, and other branches of electrochemistry. Papers were much shorter than full research articles and focused on key findings that addressed current challenges or offered new insights into electrochemical processes. While ECS Electrochemistry Letters is no longer active, its archives remain preserved in the ECS Digital Library for reference and citation, and some of its rapid-publication goals have been absorbed into new article types in ECS’s continuing journals such as the Journal of The Electrochemical Society. During its run, the journal contributed to the rapid exchange of electrochemical research findings at a time when energy and materials science were rapidly evolving.
