Journal Descriptions

This journal is published by the Société d'étude du XVIIe siècle, chaired by Jean-Robert Armogathe. It has been published since 1949. Dedicated to a better understanding of the seventeenth century as a whole, particularly in the artistic, historical, legal, literary, philosophical, scientific and spiritual fields, it is multidisciplinary by vocation. To this end, it welcomes contributions from French and foreign researchers and scholarly amateurs, published after submission to its Publications Committee. Varia issues alternate with thematic issues, produced under the responsibility of a recognized scientific authority. Each issue also includes a review of recently published works on the 17th century (around 130 reviews per year).
