Journal Descriptions

Differential Equations and Nonlinear Mechanics was an international peer reviewed open access journal dedicated to the theory and applications of differential equations and nonlinear phenomena. Established in 2006 by Hindawi Publishing Corporation, the journal provided a platform for mathematicians, engineers, physicists, and applied scientists to publish research related to ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations, nonlinear systems, dynamical systems, and mathematical modeling. The journal focused on both theoretical developments and practical applications of nonlinear mathematics. Topics included nonlinear boundary value problems, stability theory, bifurcation analysis, numerical methods, control theory, chaos theory, integral equations, and mathematical models arising in physics, engineering, biology, and economics. The journal encouraged interdisciplinary research demonstrating how differential equations can be used to describe and solve complex real world phenomena. As an open access publication, all articles were freely available online under a Creative Commons license, enhancing the dissemination of mathematical research worldwide. The journal employed a peer review process and became part of the growing portfolio of Hindawi mathematics journals. In 2010, publication under this title ceased and its scope was continued through the International Journal of Differential Equations.
