Dams and Reservoirs (D&R)
Journal Descriptions
Dams and Reservoirs is the official journal of the British Dam Society (BDS). The journal welcomes high quality technical papers, technical notes, briefing articles, case studies and discussions from all over the world related to the design, construction, operation, safety and environmental aspects of dams, reservoirs and their ancillary works. The journal reports on the work of the BDS worldwide and the related work of the International Commission on Large Dams. The British Dam Society produces a peer reviewed journal (Dams & Reservoirs) which contains a mixture of articles and technical papers relating to all aspects of dam and reservoirs design, construction and operation. The Journal has evolved over the years, starting in 1967 as a newsletter (News & Views) issued by the British Section of ICOLD (BNCOLD). In 1991 this evolved into the Dams & Reservoirs publication published directly by BDS. From 2008 publication of the journal was taken over by Thomas Telford Ltd (now ICE Publishing), making it a formal peer reviewed journal, in line with many other professional engineering societies and groups.
