Déviance et Société (DS)
Journal Descriptions
A multi-disciplinary and international journal, Déviance et société is dedicated to the analysis of norms and deviance over time and space. It is interested in the mechanisms by which the rules that govern social life are constructed, as well as the ways in which these rules are transgressed and the reactions they provoke. Its field thus covers social phenomena such as insecurity, drugs, delinquency, prostitution, corruption, organized crime, custodial sentences, etc., while encompassing the study of legal principles, public policies and professional practices relating to prevention, repression and social control. The journal publishes thematic dossiers as well as occasional articles. It is aimed at professionals in research and teaching, as well as in the justice system, the police, social work, the medical profession, and more generally at all those concerned by these issues linked to changes in contemporary society. Published with the support of CNRS Sciences Humaines et Sociales.
