Cytoskeleton (Cytoskeleton)
Journal Descriptions
Cytoskeleton is a peer‑reviewed scientific journal dedicated to research on the cytoskeleton and its associated proteins in living organisms. It encompasses the molecular, cellular, biochemical, biophysical, structural, and theoretical aspects of cytoskeletal dynamics, including but not limited to actin microfilaments, microtubules, intermediate filaments, and related regulatory proteins. First launched in 1980 under the name Cell Motility and later known as Cell Motility and the Cytoskeleton, it adopted its current title in 2010 to reflect its expanded scope. The journal publishes original research articles, reviews, and commentaries focusing on mechanisms of cell movement, organization of cytoskeletal networks, intracellular transport, cell division, and interactions with signaling pathways. It serves as an important platform for advancements in understanding diseases such as cancer metastasis, neurodegeneration, and developmental disorders where cytoskeletal functions are pivotal. Cytoskeleton is released monthly and supports hybrid open access, allowing authors to publish either behind paywalls or with open access options. It is indexed in major databases and valued for its contributions to the cell biology community worldwide.
