Cursor (Cursor)

Cursor_ is a theological open access journal with the aim of bringing academic debates, innovative formats, and different publics together digitally. Cursor_ is a theological workshop where questions at the intersection of church, academy and society are treated in an interdisciplinary and innovative way. Cursor_ connects peer reviewed academic writing with innovative formats (“theology in simple language”, “lab reports”, essayistic texts, etc.). It uses the possibilities of digital platforms for more inclusive and participatory discussions. The issues are published semi-annually and are thematically focused. The editorial teams of the individual issues are composed of at least two editors and members of the advisory board. The editors specifically request contributions for the thematic issues. Cursor ist ein Experiment. Wir sind eine theologische Open-Access Zeitschrift, die es sich zur Aufgabe macht, fachwissenschaftliche Diskussionen, partizipative Textformate und verschiedene digitale Öffentlichkeiten zusammenbringen.  Als Theolog_innen fiel uns auf, dass mit den nicht mehr ganz so “neuen Medien” auch neue Formen des Gesprächs und der Diskussion über theologische Inhalte entstehen: Twitternde Pfarrer_innen und Religionslehrer_innen, neue Gesprächsforen über die Zukunft von Theologie und Kirche, sowie theologische Podcasts, Blogs und Facebookgruppen. Besonders auffällig daran ist, dass diese Diskurse interdisziplinär sind, und sich sowohl Expert_innen als auch Lai_innen daran beteiligen. Dies zeigt, dass die sozialen Medien auch ein Ort des theologischen Austausches sind. Bis dahin, dass ganz neue Formen von Öffentlichkeit entstehen und sich so manche Landkarten der christlichen Welt dadurch zu verschieben beginnen.
