Journal Descriptions

The journal intends to provide clear, insightful, balanced contributions by international experts that review the most important, recently published clinical and translational research-related diagnostic, management, and preventative strategies associated with osteoporosis and other metabolic bone and musculoskeletal disorders. We accomplish this aim by appointing international authorities to serve as Topic Collection Editors for key subject areas, such as current and future therapeutics, regenerative medicine, cross-talk between systems, skeletal imaging and the interrelationship between skeletal health and lifestyle factors such as nutrition and exercise. Topic Editors, in turn, select topics and invite leading experts to contribute comprehensive review articles that emphasize new developments and recently published papers of major importance, highlighted by annotated key references. An international Editorial Board annually reviews publications, suggests articles of special interest to their country/region, and ensures that topics are current, innovative and inclusive of emerging research. Commentaries from well-known figures in the field are also provided.
