Current Alzheimer Research (CAR)
Journal Descriptions
Current Alzheimer Research is an international, peer-reviewed journal devoted to the comprehensive study of Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders. Since its launch in 2004, the journal has served as a leading forum for the dissemination of high-quality research spanning basic, translational, and clinical investigations. It publishes original research articles, authoritative review papers, short communications, and thematic issues that address the molecular, cellular, and physiological mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s disease. The journal covers a broad range of topics including amyloid and tau pathology, neuroinflammation, genetics, epigenetics, synaptic dysfunction, biomarkers, and brain imaging techniques. It also highlights advances in early diagnosis, disease progression monitoring, and the development of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapeutic strategies. Clinical studies, drug discovery research, and reports on clinical trials are particularly emphasized, supporting the translation of laboratory findings into patient care. Current Alzheimer Research encourages interdisciplinary contributions from neuroscientists, clinicians, molecular biologists, pharmacologists, and healthcare professionals. Through rigorous peer review and global editorial oversight, the journal aims to advance understanding of Alzheimer’s disease, promote innovative treatment approaches, and support ongoing efforts to improve diagnosis, management, and quality of life for individuals affected by this devastating neurological disorder.
