Journal Descriptions
Critique internationale is a quarterly French-language journal published by Presses de Sciences Po with the support of the Centre national du livre. A peer-reviewed journal, it has been supported since its creation in October 1998 by the Centre de recherches internationales (CERI-Sciences Po/CNRS). As a comparative social science journal, Critique internationale aims to shed light on the social sciences of politics from a comparative and empirical perspective. Articles submitted to the journal must therefore be based on in-depth knowledge of the field(s) studied, acquired by researchers through localized surveys and long-term immersion. At the same time, this approach must ensure that the research issue is firmly rooted in social science debates. Critique internationale continues to pay particular attention to supporting young researchers in their first experiences of publishing and coordinating dossiers, and remains attentive to the publication, in its columns, of work by foreign colleagues. Each quarter, a dossier thématique of five or six articles compares several case studies around a cross-cutting issue. Together with the articles published outside the dossier in each issue (Varia), these thematic studies provide particularly rich material for comparison in the social sciences. In addition to book reviews, the Lectures section offers thematic literature reviews, providing an overview of research in a given field. This journal presents quantitative benchmarks on cultural phenomena observed in the fields of study and research at the Department of Surveys, Forecasts, and Statistics (DEPS) of the French Ministry of Culture.
