Journal Descriptions

The founding (and longstanding) editors of Contributions to Political Economy – Murray Milgate, John Eatwell and Giancarlo de Vivo – step down from the Journal in 2022 following the publication of Volume 41. The full operational, managerial and editorial responsibility for Contributions to Political Economy passes to the Editorial Board of the Cambridge Journal of Economics with effect from Volume 42, July 2023. The aims and scope of Contributions to Political Economy from Volume 42 onwards are set out below. Contributions to Political Economy provides a forum for the academic discussion of original ideas and arguments drawn from important critical traditions in economic analysis. Articles fall broadly within the lines of thought associated with the work of the Classical political economists, Marx, Keynes, and Sraffa. The majority of articles are extended reviews or critical surveys on theoretical, historical or applied topics. It also publishes shorter reviews of noteworthy books recently published. Descriptions of article types considered by the journal are included below:
