Contemporary Social Science: Journal of the Academy of Social Sciences (CSS:JASS)
Journal Descriptions
This interdisciplinary, cross-national journal provides a forum for disseminating and enhancing theoretical, empirical and/or pragmatic research across the social sciences and related disciplines. Reflecting the objectives of the Academy of Social Sciences, it emphasises the publication of work that engages with issues of major public interest and concern across the world, and highlights the implications of that work for policy and professional practice. The journal publishes five issues per year, four of which are guest edited on specific themes with a fifth issue which is online only and open access (OA). This non-themed OA issue welcomes original papers from across the social sciences. The OA online only issue, published, from 2020 is in recognition of the fact that publishing is moving in a direction where all work is open, accessible, impactful and inclusive. Please note that authors can still publish on an OA basis in any of the themed issues
