Contemporary Education Dialogue (CED)
Journal Descriptions
Contemporary Education Dialogue is a distinguished peer-reviewed academic journal established in 2003 that fosters critical engagement with core issues in education by providing a reflective forum for scholarly dialogue among researchers, practitioners, and policy-makers. Published by SAGE Publishing in association with the Education Dialogue Trust, the journal nurtures the discipline of education and promotes interdisciplinary perspectives, particularly those relevant to the Global South and diverse educational contexts. It invites contributions that span theoretical analyses, empirical research, policy critiques, and practice-oriented discussions that address pressing matters such as classroom dynamics, teacher education, curriculum reforms, equity and inclusion, educational policy challenges, and comparative education. Beyond traditional research articles, the journal also features special sections dedicated to teaching and teacher development, reflective commentaries, and scholarly reviews that introduce classical and contemporary ideas to wider audiences. Its biannual/tri-annual issues aim to build bridges between academic scholarship and real-world educational challenges, encouraging dialogue that can inform practice and enrich policy debates. As a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), it adheres to high standards of academic integrity and editorial rigor. Contemporary Education Dialogue thus serves as a vital space for innovative thinking, critical reflection, and meaningful conversations that advance the understanding and improvement of education.
